Olympics Concept 2: Dublin 2024
Similar to the Glasgow ‘24 Olympics branding project, we got to choose whatever country as the “host”. Having some familiarity with the history and culture, I went with Dublin, Ireland. For the logo, I combined two iconic elements that remain timeless to Ireland: the harp and Celtic art. Using the harp as a “frame”, I encorporated a Dara knot with the colours of the Irish flag. The font is a modern take on the Gaelic type, which compliments the rest of the logo’s Celtic motifs. Overall, I wanted to create a logo that gave emphasis to Ireland’s cultural pride. This logo proved challanging with regards to dismanteling it into separate elements; luckily I was able to incorporate other Celtic patterns into some of the other branding items, such as the tickets and medal.
